Lazy weekend

Free time? Seriously? I get home at 2:30 p.m. I need some private classes, or the free time will be so daunting. Time moves so slowly here, especially on the weekends. Last Saturday was so lazy. Sometimes I feel guilty about doing nothing, but it takes skill to realize that it’s okay sometimes to do nothing. Plus, there is value in the small things — the time to read, the friends around to Skype, the food to make some pasta for dinner.

While Saturday and Sunday were pretty lazy, Friday was so much fun! I attended a birthday party of one of my new friends. We had a group of about 20 at one table at the back of a restaurant. We shared drinks, raciones (big tapas), and Spanish conversation. I met some nice girls, went to another bar, and later a discoteca. I got home at 5 a.m. tired and happy. Thus the reason for my lazy Saturday, but I now have a few conversation partners and plans to attend aerobics.

I want to do Spain to the max. I feel each minute should be accounted for by awesome activities. I have to realize it is a process to find people to do these awesome activities with me. I met great people on Friday, had a fun time, and can’t have plans all the time. It takes time to cultivate friendships, make plans and to enjoy a city. Plus, I don’t get paid until late November, so it makes traveling on the weekends to other destinations a bit of a challenge. Oh, when that day comes, how excited I will be!
