Irene is coming!
The rain has started but it’s not too heavy right now where I’m staying deep inland in Brooklyn. Everything is charged, the fridge and pantry are stocked. This evening we will fill our bathtubs with water.
We will try to order pizza and have already watched a good 4 hours of back to back Netflix streaming. When Netflix goes out the fun will really start. How will we get by without tweeting, blogging, watching movies or texting?
Before the power goes out
We are so tuned out our own devices in our own worlds. It will be interesting if the electricity goes out. Then we will have to be a bit more tuned in to one another. Like earlier today when I had a 30 minute conversation with a woman in the laundromat. I learned a lot about her life and really connected with her. It all happened because I put my phone away.
Oh, and our three medium pizzas are on the way! They are still delivering.
I’m set not to leave the apartment for the next 24 hours.
