Circus comes to town

If I see a poster for an event, I make every effort to attend. This week I saw posters for the circus (circo in Spanish) and my roommate and I agreed that we must take advantage of this opportunity. I haven’t gone to the circus since I was a little kid. Then, I remember being mesmerized by the big cats, and all I wanted was a baby pet tiger. That love of tigers may have driven me to attend the University of Missouri, and I now have a vast collection of tiger toys because of it.

I will say the circo was no Barnum and Bailey’s circus. Far from it.

They announced this is an “American bull.”

The performers in the circo seemed tired, and looked like it took every ounce of energy for them not to give up. Each time the lion tamer waited for applause from the audience of 30, he visibly sighed and continued through the motions. The animals seemed tired as well, probably from being cooped up in trailers all day. Afterall, you can’t really take a tiger on a walk to stretch his legs.

The highlight of the show was the big cats, as well as the ostrich almost taking a kid out by pecking him. Funny, but maybe not the funny the circus performers were looking for.

Get a taste of a Spanish circo with this photo slideshow (:38).

I not a new microphone so my hope is that I am only got to improve and add more photo slideshows. I used Final Cut, but might try Soundslides next.
